ZAA Professional Development: Returning 20,000 Radiated Tortoises to the Wild

This presentation will describe the ongoing Madagascar tortoise poaching crisis and how the Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA) ended up with 26,000 Radiated Tortoises under their care at our captive centers in Madagascar.  The process of returning tortoises to the wild, focused on community engagement and post release monitoring. will be discussed.  Ultimately well monitored protected areas will be required to save this tortoise which TSA has embarked on.
